Fairbanks needs to make money. Oil companies have a lot of money.

I'm quite positive the poll did two things. First, it provided information that the oil company could tout publicly as support for drilling. Second, I'm sure all the cross-tabs will show that they tested multiple messages across demographics to find out which arguments work best for -- and against -- drilling among different age and political persuasions and they don't want that info to be public.

So now I'm really confused. Mr. Fleabrain, WHY IS IT CONSIDERED A "very good polling firm" if "...clearly the poll was aimed at getting a result favorable to the T Ridge project." Seems to me it is NOT a "very good polling firm". Please help this poor Sand flea understand, I don't want to be coated in oil at my beachfront home.

You certainly are confused, Mr. Fleabrain. See if you can follow the bouncing ball: PXP hired a very good polling firm but won't release the results because clearly the poll was aimed at getting a result favorable to the T Ridge project. For remedial reading about polling, you might check out this previous Calbuzz post

I'm confused. Calbuzz has a high regard for the polling firm, then says their results that say a majority of some "genus" of Californians actually support the project are suspect. Does Calbuzz still have high regard for that firm? The article then insinuates that is wrong, then says the oil co. will have a ballot initiative. The oil co. is secretly holding onto their poll which must show hardly anybody wants their project, but they are going ahead anyway? Who writes this crap?
